Take home a little bit of the Blue Mountains in a beautiful hand dyed silk scarf! Silk has the quality of being both cool in summer and warm in winter, and being exquisitely light, it also makes an excellent choice to send overseas for that someone special.  Our silk is dyed outside, so it can be said to encompass a little of the Blue Mountains in every piece, as the temperature and humidity influences the movement of the dye on the silk. Each and every scarf and piece of silk fabric is therefore totally unique in the mix of colours and dye movement.

Jennifer Egan and Rosemary Mann are two mid-Mountains residents who have combined their talent and skills into Lanasa Fabric, hand dyed fabric of distinction.

They specialise in unique hand-dyed silk scarves of various length and width, but also dye lengths of fabric and fibre to create other items such as jewellery pouches, bookmarks, brooches, and cards. They are constantly updating their textile and colour skills through various courses.

Both having a background in textiles, they started their business in 1998, and were one of the original members of the Badgery’s Gallery co-operative (now closed). Their beautiful hand made work has also been a consistent feature of many of the Blue Mountains school Art and Craft shows since 1998, and can now be found at The Nook in Leura.
