avatarPoppy & Belle

Jennifer Lawday is the maker and designer behind the Poppy & Belle handmade brand of bags, purses, jewellery and vintage inspired accessories.

Based in Katoomba, in the upper Blue Mountains, Jennifer individually designs and handcrafts each of her pieces from her home studio, out of her collection of vintage buttons, haberdashery and fabrics.

Each one of Jennifer’s Vintage button necklaces are unique, one of a kind statement pieces of jewellery, that have been carefully and lovingly designed using her personal collection of up-cycled and vintage buttons and buckles from all over the world.  The buttons are sometimes over 50 years old and are made of early plastics, Bakelite, celluloid, glass, wood, metal and fabric covered buttons.  Earrings, rings, brooches and  home wares are also part of the Poppy & Belle button accessories range.

Jennifer is passionate about re-using and re-purposing, and is always looking for interesting objects to make into jewellery.  Currently her range includes resin earrings and pendants made from up-cycled vintage scrabble tiles, dominoes, game pieces and piano key parts.

The Poppy & Belle range of bags and purses are also hand crafted out of vintage and up-cycled fabrics and tea towels, as well as new designer retro inspired fabrics.

Not forgetting children of course! A small range of up-cycled vintage tea towel bibs, headbands, bloomers and hair clips are also available.

Poppy & Belle accessories are also available online at http://www.poppyandbelle.com and at local markets, such as Blackheath Community Markets held on the first Sunday of the month at Blackheath Public School.
