Mosaics By Alex

Hello all !  My name is Alex & I now offer mosaic art at The Nook in Leura, situated in the beautiful Blue Mountains.

I enjoy making glittering jewels in a variety of colours – some in masculine colours that are created for men to admire and enjoy; some unashamedly feminine in pinks and purples; and then in every colour in between.
While striving to make these works aesthetically pleasing  within themselves,  many pieces are also functional and can be admired in every day use.
The pieces such as trivets and coasters are unique and individual – while some of them run to a theme – in colour or design, no two are the same.
I also create handmade individually designed art pieces such as wall art and mirrors.

The majority of my work utilises beautiful imported coloured glass and exquisite coloured mirror, as well as millefiori from Italy, Van Gogh glass and glitter glass.

I am in the process of expanding into 3D mosaic art pieces using mixed media, and I am looking forward to adding further variety to my current range – so much in fact that all the ideas running around in my head are turning me into an insomniac !

Mosaic is an ancient art form, and in our fast-paced throw away society, the appeal of these treasures is that they can be enjoyed for a life time.
