Suzanna Coombes

Working mainly in silver and semi precious stones I strive to make wearable treasures.  My design ethic is simply to be as different as possible using nature as a starting point , not just in the visual graphic sence of floral motifs  but also in the choice of  materials used.

In 2004 I took up the art of lapidary and stone carving, so my work now has a strong focus on Australian stones ranging from local sapphires, opals and quartzes, to the lesser know jaspers, agates and chrysopraises.

As humans are part of nature  insperation also flows from different human cultures, histories and traditions with a strong focus on symbology.
