Chris is the creative force behind Kiah Cottage Crafts, she started making appliqued clothing for her 2 sons when they were small and this lead to her joining The Nook in 1997.

She makes gorgeous functional appliquéd homewares.

Highlights of the Kiah Cottage collection include dragon appliquéd towels for boys and Betty Boop designs for girls.

You might like to try her relaxing eye pillows filled with organic linseed and chamomile or lavender.

Most popular are Kiah’s clove scented trivets to put under your tea pot or baking dish.

Chris particularly enjoys creating her range of bright teacosies which are handbeaded, embroidered and embellished. Each one is unique and they have their own personalities almost, in fact people often buy them for gifts when they “look” like a friend or family member.

Chris loves bright colours and collects may of her fabrics on trips back “home” to New Zealand as well as on her travels around Australia.

Chris has been sewing since childhood and was well taught by her mother and grandmother who were hard taskmasters, making her unpick when she made mistakes. It was a good grounding for Chris and you will see that her work is beautifully executed.
